There's been this place I've been wanting to try for so long. I saw it on Instagram and immediately decided: I am going. The strawberry parfait looked absolutely stunning — this pink-to-red gradient that was just... I don't know, dreamy? However you'd describe it, that's what it was.
Today I finally went!! By myself!!
The shop was smaller than I expected — only about six counter seats. Very cute.
I ordered the parfait and spent the whole wait thinking about how I was going to photograph it.
Then it arrived.
It was even more beautiful in person. The second it hit the table I actually made a little sound. Quietly, since I was alone.
Photoshoot begin.
Different angles, shot after shot, "maybe this one, wait no this one—" and by the time I stopped, the parfait had started to melt a little.
I rushed to start eating — and when I switched my spoon...
A little bit of syrup splashed onto my top.
Pink syrup. White top.
Oh no.
The staff quietly brought over a wet cloth, and I thanked them while crying a little on the inside.
But.
The parfait was absolutely delicious.
Some of the photos actually came out great.
I loved the atmosphere of the place.
And the top — I washed it the second I got home, and I think it's okay. Probably.
Lesson learned: three photos max, then eat immediately.
I will absolutely follow this rule next time.
I've already decided I'm going back, so — all in all, a good day.
