Today, I tried something a little different.

A dance cover.

I'd been watching everyone having fun with dance videos, and it made me want to try one too.

If I was going to do it, I wanted to practice properly.

I wanted to make it cute.

And, if possible—

I wanted people to think,

"Aine can actually dance pretty well!"

That was the goal.

The filming location was our usual dance studio.

I set up my phone in front of the mirror, checked the angle, and made sure my whole body fit in the frame.

Then I fixed my hair, checked my outfit, and took one last look at the screen.

🩷 Aine: "Alright… today, I'm really going to dance properly!"

I said that to myself in the empty studio.

The dance I tried this time was for "Partner."

It looks cute and fun when you watch it.

But once you actually try it—

there's a lot going on.

Hands.

Feet.

Where to look.

Facial expressions.

You have to think about everything at the same time.

The first time I practiced it, I completely lost track of what I was doing.

🩷 Aine: "My hands go this way… wait, which foot!?"

It felt right when I practiced in front of the mirror.

Then the music started, and suddenly I forgot everything.

And when I focused too hard on remembering the choreography, my face became way too serious.

Instead of looking like I was doing a fun dance cover—

I looked like someone desperately trying to remember the next move.

🩷 Aine: "Smile… smile…!"

Reminding yourself to smile while dancing is harder than it sounds.

But after repeating it a few times, things slowly started to come together.

My hands and feet stopped fighting each other.

I started catching the rhythm better.

And every now and then, I'd look in the mirror and think—

🩷 Aine: "That one was actually pretty good."

So I tried again.

And again.

And, just to be safe—

one more time.

Before I knew it, I had practiced quite a lot.

That might be one of my bad habits.

Even when I've probably practiced enough, I keep thinking,

"Maybe one more time."

But if I'm going to film something, I want to do my best.

So after one final check of the choreography, it was time for the real take.

I pressed record on my phone.

Got into position.

Took a breath.

🩷 Aine: "Okay…!"

The moment the music started, I was a little nervous.

But the movements I had practiced were still in my body.

And somewhere along the way, instead of thinking about every single step, I started moving more naturally with the music.

…Probably.

I was concentrating so hard while filming that I honestly don't remember exactly what expression I was making.

But I do remember how relieved I felt when the song ended.

🩷 Aine: "I'm done…!"

Right after filming, I checked the video.

I watched it from beginning to end.

Then I got embarrassed.

Put my phone down.

And watched it again.

Watching yourself dance still feels a little strange.

I notice things like—

"I could've done this part better."

Or—

"Oh… that part actually went better than I thought."

The more I watch, the more little things I start noticing.

But this time—

I felt like it was good enough to post.

So.

I uploaded my dance cover to TikTok today.

If you've read this far—

did I actually dance properly?

Did all that practice pay off?

There's only one way to find out.

Check the TikTok and see for yourself♪
